If you're here, thank you! This is the first post on my brand new horror blog, something I've been talking about making for years but just never did it. But today I finally caved! This is also sort of a personal project to better enhance my writing skills (I'm a theatre major so I don't have any actual journalism experience) so that one day I might get to write for a big horror news site. But luckily this is merely a personal opinion blog so, hopefully, it shouldn't be too difficult. I just have to stick with it.
A little background on me: I'm 23 years old from New Jersey (born and raised) and I have a stutter. I'll be graduating from Montclair State University in May 2018 with a BA in Theatre Studies and in August I start my second Disney College Program. Some things I enjoy besides horror are theme parks, cryptozoology, Keanu Reeves movies, Lost (2004-2010), 80's music, Stephen King, paranormal investigations, and pop culture knick knacks.
As for horror, my favorite all time is THE THING (1982). But I also love the Evil Dead trilogy & Ash vs. Evil Dead, Re-Animator, Behind The Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon, Cooties, Repo! The Genetic Opera, IT (1990 & 2017), The Conjuring series, An American Werewolf in London, Trick r' Treat, Scream series, Cabin Fever, John Dies at the End, The Faculty, The Fly, Aliens, Get Out, etc.
I'm a big fan of James Wan, Leigh Whannell, Jeffrey Combs, Darren Lynn Bousman, John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Robert Englund, Bill Moseley, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Barbra Crampton. Mocking horror tropes, good practical gore/blood effects, aliens, old school slashers, and almost anything made/set in the 80's are some of my favorite specific horror things.
